So what if Bush isn't the perfect candidate?

Not a Perfect "10" -- Did that keep you
from taking a date to the prom?
The Democrats aren't staying home.

Since posting a file urging gunnies not to support any third parties this year, I have received e-mail from people who are really fed up with the Republicans and will either (a) vote for a third party candidate; (b) vote for Al Gore if things are close; or (c) go hunting on election day.

Gunnies tend to be independent minded and have little tolerance for political parties that have let them down in the past.  (e.g., the Republicans)  Granted, George W. Bush is not the ideal candidate for gun owners.  He does not rate an "A" on gun issues.   His party has not towed the line 100% in the past in defending the 2nd Amendment.   His dad?  (The less said about him the better.)  For these reasons some gunnies want nothing to do with the guy.

Because Bush is not a perfect "10" some gunnies want to stand in the corner and sulk.  That's like staying home on prom night because the prettiest girl in class turned you down.

The Clinton administration (which Al Gore served for eight years) has done lots of things to upset Democrat constituencies.  Remember NAFTA and welfare reform?  Big Labor and blacks were upset about those, but they wouldn't dream of missing this year's prom.   They want to elect Al Gore as President and regain control of the House of Representatives. These loyal Democrat constituencies realize that the best way to reverse policies they don't like and enact ones that benefit them is to have Democrats in control.

If gunnies want to stay home that's fine with the Gore camp.

Political parties as large as the G.O.P. or the Democrats will never be able to please everybody on all issues. Never.  Every political party has internal differences.

Democrats generally have more political savvy than Republicans and they are far more ruthless.  They will put their differences aside this year because they believe any Democrat would make a better President than any Republican.

Democrats will bury the hatchet -- because they REALLY WANT TO WIN.

Democrats  know that you can't begin to wield political power until you have won.  (Then you can bury the hatchet in the loser's skull.)

Don't like Bush?  Take the time to read
what Al Gore has to say about
your guns.

The Gore people have been kind enough to post tons of Al Gore's speeches on the Internet.  Topics cover everything that big-government-types care about.  Including trashing your 2nd Amendment rights.

Hold your nose if you have to,
but work to defeat Al Gore.
